2014, I may post more often?

My goal for 2014 is to try and blog more! I know, I know, I've said it before but I really need to start at least posting pictures and short entries.

So what have I been up to, you ask? A bunch of things actually. In December I had my first mini-solo show at STRANGER FACTORY in ABQ, New Mexico. 24 Dolls made the trip.

I had a great time visiting New Mexico, thanks to Kathie Olivas and Brandt Peters for their amazing hospitality. They showed us around ABQ and Santa Fe and treated us to REBEL DONUTS! Best Donuts I have ever had in my life!

I will also be leaving Etsy and opening a BigCartel shop in February. This was a difficult decision but after Etsy made "those" horrible changes to it's policies I've decided to leave. It's sad. It used to be such a wonderful place for artists.

This weekend was absolutely beautiful. 90 degrees, sunny, and I got alot of yard work done. Spent Saturday extended the flowerbeds out in preparation for new mulch. Took all day but felt good to get some excercise. On Sunday I decided to trim my huge dappled willow bushes in the front yard. So, using my electric hedge trimmer I began trimming the bushes. I made a HUGE MISTAKE and took my left hand off the trimmer to move some branches and guess what? I almost trimmed my entire index finger off. I was so lucky I only needed stitches. No bone damage, Thankfully! It bled like a son-of-a- B though. No sewing for a week or two. Can't get fur and fiber up in it. :(

Wow! I can't believe it's been an entire year since I've done anything with this blog. I've been busy to say the least. I'm hoping to start paying more attention to this page. We'll see what happens.

So this is what I've been up to this week. I made some smaller dollz using some recycled 70's fabric.

Plush Team STEAMPUNK Challenge

I made this doll as part of the Etsy Plush Team's STEAMPUNK challenge. She was indeed a challenge for me. I'm not used to working with watch parts and wire and gears. After two days of work I finally finished her. I think she turned out pretty rad but I'm partial I guess. What do you think?

Her name is VIDALIA VON STROUSE. She's available in the plushteam shop

Been gone for a long time.....

I have been missing in action from this blog since January. I really need to try to stay up on things. Yeah right. I will attempt to write something at least twice a week. We'll see how that goes. Until then, enjoy some new photos of recent dollz I've been working on.
